Windshield Defense™ Limited Warranty

PLEASE KEEP THIS LIMITED WARRANTY WITH YOUR ORIGINAL RECEIPT Several provisions in this Manufacturer’s Defect Limited Warranty (this “Limited Warranty”) restrict coverage. Read the entire Limited Warranty carefully to determine your rights and duties and our obligations with respect to this Warranty. Racing Optics, Inc. (“Racing Optics”), the manufacturer of Racing Optics Windshield Defense™ Kit (the Product”), provides this limited warranty to the original retail purchaser of the Product that the Product will be free of manufacturing defects, including but not limited to substantial yellowing, cracking, bubbling, delamination or peeling, for a period not to exceed 6 months per layer, but in no event more than a total of 18 months for the entire stack (3 layers), from the date of purchase of the Product (the “Limited Warranty Period). The duration of any implied warranties shall also be limited to the Limited Warranty Period. The Limited Warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, improper maintenance (i.e., not in accordance with the Windshield Defense™ Maintenance Procedure, or misuse, such as (but without limiting the definition of misuse) the items in the Windshield Defense™ Limited Warranty Exclusions at the end of this Limited Warranty. This limited warranty is made only to the original purchaser of the Product and with respect to the original installation of the Product to a vehicle. This Limited Warranty is not transferable or assignable, by operation of law or otherwise. Installers of the Product are not employees or agents of Racing Optics, and Racing Optics is not responsible for any damage or defects that result from improper installation, or from any modifications or repairs made to the claimant’s vehicle in connection with the installation of the Product. To initiate a claim under this Limited Warranty, the original purchaser must provide written notice of the warranty claim together with a copy of the original purchase receipt and a photograph of the defective Product, within the Limited Warranty Period, to Racing Optics’s Warranty Department online at:

Racing Optics will review the warranty claim within 30 days of receiving all required documentation, and respond to the claimant in writing. In the event that the Product is determined by Racing Optics to be defective, Racing Optics will replace the defective film by delivering replacement film to the claimant. Replacement of a defective Product is Racing Optics’s only obligation under this Limited Warranty. No refund of purchase price will be made under this Limited Warranty, and Racing Optics is not responsible for the cost of installing a replacement Product. Consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this Limited Warranty. No agent, representative, installer, dealer or employee has the authority to alter, extend, limit, modify, or increase the obligations or limitations of this Limited Warranty. This limited warranty gives You specific legal rights but you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

To maximize the life of the Racing Optics film, please follow these instructions for proper care and maintenance.

Always use clean, soft cloth to wash and dry your Racing Optics film surfaces.

Most glass cleaners (like Windex spray, clear glass foam cleaner) will work well, although a good cleaning solution for Racing Optics film is 1/2 ounce of liquid dish soap added to 1 quart of fresh water. Use water at room temperature (65°F to 77°F – 18°C to 25°C).

A soft cloth or a clean synthetic sponge is recommended for washing the Racing Optics film, followed by another clean soft cloth or soft rubber squeegee for drying.
To avoid scratching the film, do not use bristle brushes, abrasive scrubbing sponges, or any cleaning materials that may have been contaminated with dirt particles. Avoid washing interior and exterior windows with the same cleaning materials.

Some brands of paper towels are coarse enough to put fine scratches in the film, even films with scratch resistant, protective hard-coat finish. While these scratches may be too fine to be seen at first, they can cause damage and reduce the polished look of the film over time.
